When you hear the name Jamie, rings a bell doesn't it? And if you're thinking what I'm thinking, yes, this is Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Singapore. In June 2013, Jamie Oliver was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame, which is an institution honoring chefs and institutions that have made major contributions cuisine and food preparation. Currently, Jamie Oliver is hosting a Youtube channel called FoodTube which aims to promote new cooking talents.
At Jamie's Italian the pasta is prepared on the day itself, ensuring it's freshness and quality. Its menu has lots to offer, from your classic raviolis & risottos to the hearty main courses with a rustic feel to it.
Let's begin our Italian journey, shall we?
Jool's favourite Sicilian Tuna Fusilli, a dish that Jamie Oliver's wife personally likes and also a classic version of fusilli, with the Albacore tuna slow-cooked in garlic and cinnamon, topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. What's an italian restaurant without a classic take on pasta? The way the tuna just flakes apart when you cut it and the aroma it contains just leaks out, and fusilli cooked till al-dente, it will fill your mouth with full of flavors!
Next up we've got the Wild Truffle Risotto, after every bite, there will be a lingering truffle taste on your mouth, with the creamy texture of the risotto to compliment the dish. Definitely a dish worth looking forward to having!
The often ordered visually appealing Jamie's Italian Burger definitely has a reason for its popularity, once you hear the combination of Wagyu steak with smoked mozzarella, pancetta and balsamic onions, you know it's going to be good. The nice char marks on the steak and the freshness of the vegetables all just comes together in a single bite.
There are also sweet treats such as Tutti Frutti Lemon Meringue Pie and the Creamy Panna Cotta, the Lemon Meringue Pie is topped off with crunchy pistachio brittle which outlined the contrast in the flavour of the pie, bringing out the sweetness within the pie itself. Whereas for the Cream Panna Cotta is served with a fruit compote, it has a smooth texture and a certain rich creaminess to it, exactly how a Panna Cotta should be like.
If you're interested in Jamie's Italian, be sure to make reservations beforehand as the queue can get quite ridiculous.
